Match Report

The opening game for the ladies 2s is one of celebration with a draw for the first game of the season, a new record for the team. The young side showed promise and flair, good news for the season ahead. There were multiple chances throughout the game coming from Charlotte, Iris, Roisin, Hannah, Bryony and Anneke. The successful goal came from Lydia who managed to convert one of Charlotte Hanbury's crosses into the D.

Defencively there was a strong performance across the back row with Lizzie Wills ensuring no one would pass. Jess Lee prevented any goals making it in from the many short corners they ha. The defensive short corner routine was strong as usual but we need to work on the attacking end. Another area of work is tackling in particular the jab tackle which we will work on this week. Unfortunately in the last minute ISCA scored an incredible goal that hit the post perfectly to go in. the final score read as 1-1 with Torbay dominating position and accuracy throughout.

This was one of our strongest team performances from the last few seasons, especially with numerous new members and youngsters. This game saw the debut of Millie, Hannah and Anneke all of which looked natural on the pitch. The future looks promising!!
