Match Report | A win for the 2s was a deserved result after a competitive match with OPMs at Clennon Valley. the visitor season started the brighter but failed to score after some early pressure. Torbay play with a patient maturity and after some good approach play, and a powerful through ball from JJ, Jon Avery was there to fire home the opening goal. OPMs pressed for an equaliser, but we’re kept out from somebody solid defending. The second half saw a fairly even contest between the two teams. OPMs finally broke through following an aerial ball that Torbay struggle day to clear. Sam Street kept the score even with some good stops, but Torbay also failed to take chances at the other end. Brett was denied a goal as the ball was judged to be outside the D when it was struck. Torbay maintained good discipline and scored a winner, when OPM made the mistake of only half clearing the ball, which JJ gobbled up with a thunderous by strike. Congratulations to Dewi for being awarded Man of the Match for his second half performance. |
