Match Report | Plymouth Uni were propping up the bottom of the table at the start of the game, but even so, some of their games had been close. As expected, they arrived with a young and fit team that showed some promise. However, true to form, Torbay dominated the first half with wave after wave of attack. After several penalty corners, Torbay finally found the breakthrough off Buzzer’s powerful strike from the top of the D. More goals then followed, a rebound converted by JJ, a penalty flick from Brett and the pick of the Bunche from Ben Till, who finished off a flowing move up the left side of the pitch. Half time saw the arrival of super-sub Phil Reilly, who provided a much needed break for several of the Torbay midfield. The second half continued to see good play from the home team and other than a breakaway from the Uni boys, Sam Street’s goal stayed unthreatened for large parts of the game. Another goal from Ben and Buzzer rounded off an excellent performance from Torbay A, who now sit proudly in third position in the division. Next week is an away trip to Cornwall against a Bodmin team that has managed to lift themselves off the bottom of the division in recent weeks with a couple of wins. |
